Grammar is
a set of rules which help to use English language in a logical way, Murray
(1795). In the other hand grammar is view as the way to organize a set of words
including parts of the speech each one with their functions, Spratt,
Pulverness, Willians (2011).Taking as reference the definition mentioned
before, the most relevant for me in this unit was about how the nine parts of
speech have specific functions and subcategories that works according with the
speakers´ needs. Let me explain with a clear example. Teacher in the classroom
will explain to students about parts of speech like nouns, verbs, adjectives,
adverbs, determiners, preposition, pronouns, conjuctions, exclamation using the
function of each one, it makes that students understand in an easy way this
part of grammar and not only focusing in the theoretical part. Moreover, the
appropriate use of it gives to learners a great confidence to communicate
without doubts.
In the following video you can find more information about each part of the speech with examples and functions of each one.
